Families will find a way to stay healthy at Riviera Sports Center. Membership includes no-cost group fitness classes, access to indoor and outdoor pools and all of the sports courts as well as the latest in cardio and weight machines. The cafe and spa areas are for when it is time to unwind after a hard workout. Our mission and goals at Riviera are to ensure that you find your fit to stay active today and for years to come and be a great example to your children. Our Sandbox Playtime Services offers supervised childcare by experienced staff. Children ages 6 weeks to 7 years old will be able to enjoy a fun and educational environment while you take time out of your day for your workout.

Bolingbrook Fitness Center Brings Together Exercisers

With no registration required and no additional fees, Riviera’s group exercise classes are an easy and fun way to exercise. Our team strives to offer a mix of classes at a variety of times throughout the week. Every other Saturday, we also set a youth fitness class to get the kids moving as well and introduce them to a healthy lifestyle. Classes range from cardio to strength at a variety of levels. ZUMBA is exercise but can feel like a dance class. With easy-to-follow moves, participants will enjoy the catchy music and fun atmosphere. Pilates and Yoga offerings can help lengthen muscles and build core strength.

At our indoor pool, you can also join a group exercise class. The aquatic classes can be an option for those who may need less pressure on their joints or who may just want to change up their same old exercise routine. Benefits can be gained from the natural resistance of being in the water and the addition of speed work and cardio or strength moves. For example, our H2O for Health class is geared toward the beginning exerciser and is considered a basic, but invigorating workout.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
