At Riviera Sports Center, members can take their fitness regime to the next level no matter where they are starting out at! Whether you are a beginner or veteran in the exercise world, there are amenities and classes to fit your needs. Our professional staff members lead a mix of unique classes that can vary each month to ensure that you are challenged and entertained every time you work out. Classes offer a great way to not only get fit, but also to connect with other individuals and socialize. We strive to offer everything that you need to live an active and happy life year after year.

Orland Park Gym Classes Bring Groups Together to Sweat

Our group exercise classes are free to all members and as there is no registration required, you can walk on in whenever you feel like sweating and have the time. We work to provide a huge variety of one-of-a-kind fitness classes that hit all interests. By working out in a group, you can expect such benefits as having a fun time in a supportive environment and feeling a sense of accountability as you make new friends and connections.

Our class offerings have everything you would expect: from the classics to newer offerings. We have kickboxing, cycling, yoga and boot camp style classes that get you moving and your heart pumping. Strength classes, such as group power, use barbells to help you build major muscle groups while Pilates uses a mat and resistance to help create a long, lean look. Zumba is a fun way to stay fit through music and dance moves.

More Than Just Gym Classes at Our Orland Park Fitness Facility

If you are wanting to have some solo workout time or give a sport a whirl, our facility has what you are seeking. On the sports side, we have basketball courts, both inside and outside. The outdoor court is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and summer camps are available to boost your skills. You can also swing in our golf cage and hit the courts for racquetball or tennis. Our boxing studio includes two heavy bags and two-speed bags.

The fitness equipment that we have here at Riviera is industry-leading in names that you know and trust, such as Nautilus, Nordic, Schwinn and Precor. Die-hard runners and walkers will be able to stay active year-round with our indoor track that goes around our tennis courts. When your workout is all wrapped up, take time to yourself in our whirlpool and sauna or grab a refreshing made-to-order smoothie at our cafe. Here you will also find such necessities as swimming goggles, nose plugs and batteries in case you forget yours at home.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
