Riviera Country Club and Sports Center is the place to be for exercisers of every level. Our space has everything members need to stay fit, relaxed and healthy. Our facilities include areas for sports, swimming, group classes, boxing and running. Members enjoy perks, such as free group exercise classes, complimentary towel, and lock service as well as health spa toiletries, no cost initial group fitness orientation and year-round social activities for all age groups.

Aquatics: If swimming is your thing, we have you covered! Our indoor pool includes five lanes and a free swim area. We keep the water at a comfortable 82 to 84 degrees. Those interested in private swim lessons can improve their skills, from beginning to advanced. We also offer aquatic classes as an alternative way to get fit. When weather permits, grab your family and make a splash in our outdoor pool, which has a two-story waterslide and certified lifeguards on duty at all times.

Sports: Grab your crew and hit the courts to sharpen your sports skills. We have basketball, racquetball and tennis courts. We also have an indoor practice cage to work on your golf swing.

Group setting: Our aerobic studio has a cushioned “action thrust” maple floor with plenty of space for all of our aerobics classes. These are all free to members and there is no registration required. Our classes are designed to get everyone moving from beginners to advanced exercisers. Examples of our classes include cardio kickboxing, cardio mix, group cycling, step, strength training, and turbo kick.

Cardio and Weight area: We maintain the best in equipment for our members who want to utilize strength and fitness machines. We feature such well-known names as Cybex, Precor, Life Fitness and Nordic. You can also run or walk on our indoor track.

What Else You Can Expect At Our Palos Hills Fitness Center

When your workout is wrapped up, take time to yourself to relax in our spa facilities, which include a whirlpool and sauna. We also have a cafe where we mix up made-to-order smoothie drinks. We also have the last-minute necessities that you may forget, such as batteries and goggles.

We are a great fit for families with our on-site Sandbox Playtime Services. Children ages 6 weeks to 7 years old will be entertained by our experienced and qualified staff members while you work out.

COVID-19 Update

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.
