Plainfield Gym Classes

Plainfield Gym Classes Create Variety in Your Routine

Members at Riviera Sports Center are always moving! Our offerings range from swimming and sports to aerobics and running. Our facilities are extensive and will meet the needs of any level of exerciser. Our place is the place to be for staying fit and healthy and we cater to your whole family. Our child care, Sandbox Playtime Services, will help parents keep moving while not having to worry about their littlest ones. Our Sandbox staff will keep your 6-week to 7-year-old happy and entertained with toys, coloring books or games. It is a safe, fun and educational environment. We also have year-round social activities for a variety of age groups to keep your family engaged in fitness and fun.

Plainfield Gym Classes in the Water

Our team at Riviera can help you stay active while in the water. We have a range of aquatic classes that meet in our indoor pool. If you are seeking a higher-intensity class, then try our Aqua Tone class. It will help you increase your heart rate with cardio and strength training with the resistance of water. Trends do not just stay on dry land. ZumWata brings the dance craze into the water. Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves take place right in our indoor pool.

Beyond classes, our members can enjoy our pool for free swim and five lanes for practicing their swim strokes. We keep the water temperature at a comfortable 82 to 84 degrees and also offer swim lessons for groups or as private instruction. During the warmer months, families connect at our outdoor pool that features a two-story water slide for the kids! The baby pool has a center fountain to keep the littlest ones entertained and cool.

Plainfield Gym Classes Free to All Riviera Members

Group exercise classes can be the motivation for some to really stay with an exercise routine. Not only do they create a sense of community, but they also help keep some on track by prompting a feeling of accountability. We offer a unique mix of classes, so our members will find their favorites or a new class to challenge them. There is no registration required and men and women are welcome. There are youth exercise classes every other Saturday to ignite a love of exercise at an early age.

Our aerobic classes are led by trained professionals and we continue to add new offerings all of the time. We have everything from AB Blast, which focuses on core movements, to Dance Party, which brings salsa, mambo and retro moves to a party-like workout. Classics such as Group Cycling, Step and Strength are among our core offerings.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
