Doree Lewis

Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritional Consultant

Nine and a half years ago Riviera hired me as a Personal Trainer, fresh out of the National Personal Training Institute. “It was one of the best days of my life.”

Many of you know the reason for my choosing to become a Personal Trainer and those of you who don’t, can ask me the next time you run into me at the club. I’d love to talk with you. Not only about my experience but about how you can benefit from personal training with me.

In April of 2004, I enrolled at the National Personal Training Institute in Lisle, IL. There they prepared me for my career as a Personal Trainer. It consisted of both comprehensive program ‘s and hands-on training in the gym with the instructors. The courses of studies, in addition to detailed anatomy and physiology, included in-depth coverage of client evaluation and exercise program design, including special populations such as cardiac, arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, pregnancy, joint replacement, etc…as well as practical internship. I came to Riviera with a wealth of knowledge as well as tremendous amount of enthusiasm. I just couldn’t wait to share it with the members.

Over the past nine years, I have had the opportunity to train well over 300 clients, One-on-One helping them enjoy a healthier lifestyle through diet and exercise. Let Me Help You To Enjoy A Better Quality Of Life! Contact me at (708) 307-3633 today!

Angela Mateja

Certified Personal Trainer

I have been in the Health and Fitness Industry for over 20 years. My initial start was due to a sports injury at age 14, when I joined a health club to rehabilitate my knee from surgery. I started off as an Aerobics Instructor, moved into management, eventually opened my own Health Club, and became a Personal Trainer. Now I am operating an all-inclusive Personal Training Program here at Riviera Country Club.

I have a dynamic passion for helping people learn about their personal health and fitness level. My drive to keep learning new things and my motivation to keep people coming back for more is what I believe makes me a good trainer. My main goal with clients is to inspire them to learn something new about themselves, motivate them to stick to a new healthy lifestyle, and help them build dedication to their overall health and wellness.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
